Mullens Awarded Jon Fuller Memorial Preliminary Win at Scotland County
Amarillo Ambush in Texas Up Next
WICHITA, Kan. (April 28, 2026) — Tanner Mullens capitalized on an unexpected turn of events Friday night at Scotland County Speedway, inheriting the preliminary victory during the Jon Fuller Memorial following a post-race disqualification.
Mullens, who originally crossed the line in second, was awarded the $5,000 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) victory—his second win of the 2026 season.
“We definitely hate winning races like that,” Mullens said. “We really hate it for Rodney as we race with him night in and night out, we will take this win as it helps our points run and move on to the next event.”
Mullens’ path to the front began with a third-place finish in his heat, lining him up on the third row for the feature. He methodically worked his way forward, taking over third on lap 14 before advancing to second on lap 26, where he remained at the checkered flag.
Following post-race technical inspection, apparent winner Rodney Sanders was disqualified, elevating Mullens to the top spot.
He backed up the performance on Saturday with another strong showing, charging from sixth to second in the $5,000-to-win Jon Fuller Memorial finale after a runner-up finish in his heat race.

USMTS competition continues this weekend as Mullens heads to Texas for the Amarillo Ambush at Route 66 Motor Speedway. The doubleheader features a pair of $5,000-to-win A-Main events.
