Runner-up finish for Mullens in Fall Nationals finale
Tanner Mullens continued his impressive 2025 campaign over the weekend during the Fall Nationals at Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park. Driving his Strength Roofing & Siding No. 02 machine, he raced among more than 40 USRA Modifieds each night en route to a second-place finish in Sunday’s $20,000-to-win main event.
On Friday at the 3/8-mile track, Mullens won his heat race and advanced one position in the 25-lap A-Main to finish third. He rounded out the podium after Cade Dillard and Terry Phillips, with Jake O’Neil and Rodney Sanders taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Saturday saw Mullens finish second in his heat despite being collected in an early pileup. He went on to win his B-Main, then started 11th and finished eighth in the 25-lap feature.
By virtue of points earned during the event’s first two nights, Mullens was locked into Sunday’s finale. He started fourth in the 50-lapper and came home as runner-up, 1.722 seconds behind Dillard. Phillips, Stormy Scott and Reece Solander completed the top five.
