XR Dominator feature start for Mullens
A chance to win $100,000 steered Tanner Mullens to Pryor Creek, Oklahoma’s Salina Highbanks Speedway over the weekend for the XR Dominator. In the XR One Nation Under Modifieds (ONUM)-sanctioned show at the 3/8-mile track, he raced in a 66-car field and advanced to Saturday’s finale.
On Friday, Mullens kicked off his event by claiming the fourth-quickest time in his qualifying group with his Strength Roofing & Siding No. 02 Modified.
He started from the top spot in his heat race on Saturday and led every lap, putting him a strong sixth to begin the night’s 60-lap, $100,000-to-win main event.
Mullens raced near the front of the pack in the feature race’s early stages, but he ran into trouble just before halfway and was unable to finish. He took 19th place in the final rundown.
