Mullens, Jolly, Westhoff headline winners at Humboldt Speedway.

Humboldt Speedway- An approaching full moon and a lightning fast racetrack made conditions perfect for action at Humboldt Speedway on Friday night in NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing. In NASCAR A Modified action, Wichita driver Tanner Mullens led every lap in taking the victory. For the rest of the field, it was a different story. Last years track champion Tad Davis, had an unforgettable evening. Early in the A feature, Davis encountered some difficulty; spinning and being placed in the rear of the field with current points leader Mitch Keeter from Webb City, Missouri. The pair charged through the field, with the help of late race cautions, to finish second and fourth respectively. Chase Domer, from Nevada, Missouri finished third with Wichita’s Ed Leecy rounding out the top five.
In Ray’s Metal Depot B Mod action, Jasper Missouri’s Cody Jolly backed up last week's finish with another win. Jolly, currently NASCAR Whelen All-American Division II national points leader, found the tracks tacky condition somewhat challenging as he tracked down early race leader Curt Drake and Matthew Kay for the win. Ethan Isaacs and Jimmie Davis completed the top five. Heat race wins went to kay, Drake and Davis.
Pitts Steel Street Stocks saw Than Lamons, jumping in his father's car and jumping to an early lead over Longton’s Shane Cook to pick up the win. Rusty Etherton and Nick Fritch would find their way by Cook in the closing laps with Yates Center’s Hunter Oswald rounding out the top five. Street Stocks will have the next week off as Oil Capital Race Series Sprintcars will invade the Hummer on July 14th.
Whitworth Construction Factory Stock racing saw Jon Westhoff pick up his sixth win of the year, outdueling Bryce Weldon in another classic race between the two Chanute racers. Westhoff used to outside lane to start the race and stayed in the top groove to put distance between himself and Weldon. Joey Decoster, Wayne Johnson and Derek Wilson completed the top five. In no suprise, heat race wins went to Westhoff and Weldon.
St. Joseph’s John Willard has become accustomed to ending up in McCarthy Auto Group Victory Lane. Willard notched his ninth win on the year at Humboldt Speedway, with last weeks winner Eric Ikehorn and Barry Luthi rounding out the top three.
As mentioned previously, OCRS(Oil Capital Racing Series) Sprint cars highlight the July 14th weekly races. The series sees Shane Sellers holding a 59 point lead over Zach Chappell. Alex Sewell, Mickey Walker and Sheldon Barksdale lead the series into Humboldt, with Chapell picking up the series last win on June 24th at Salina, Oklahoma.
